Amidaji recognizes the literal existence of Amida Buddha and His Pure Land, thus encouraging all beings to entrust to Him, say His Name in faith and gratitude, and wish to be born there after death.
Amidaji has a traditional connection with the Hongwanji-ha (Nishi Hongwanji) branch of Jodo Shinshu school, but it functions as an independent Jodo Shinshu Buddhist organization on the basis of its own (present) Constitution and regulations, thus being open to all people interested in the Jodo Shinshu teaching, no matter which branch they belong to. Our connection means that we inherit the essentials of Jodo Shinshu teaching as transmitted within the Nishi Hongwanji branch. We are grateful to the dedication and efforts made by the many generations of Hongwanji followers and we promise that we’ll continue their work within Amidaji.

Daisojo of Amidaji International Temple:
For however long I
remain in this delusory body,
I will be devoted
to Amida Dharma from the very core of my mind,
And whatever I do,
say or think,
Will be directed
to help all beings receive faith in
Amida Buddha.
I will travel on
the path to liberation,
And riding the
horse of faith and true teaching,
I will lead all beings to birth in the Pure
Land.
